We are aware that anyone planning a holiday in the mountains has a lot of questions… Will I need to put chains on the tyres of my car or will I be getting sunburnt? How am I going to keep the children occupied if it’s snowing during our holiday? Will the temperature be -20°C or +15°C, should I take jumpers or a swimsuit? And lots more besides!
We are sorry to break it to you, but you’re going to have to bring a big suitcase! Because in the mountains, more so than elsewhere, the weather forecast can sometimes change from one day to the next!
Here are some of our top tips to make sure you have a good time at our superb resort of Praz de Lys Sommand
For a safe journey, make sure you’re well-equipped!
All-season tyres, snow tyres, chains, socks… Are you not sure of what to choose? The only advice we can give you is to be careful… In winter, if you don’t have snow tyres, make sure you have some chains in the boot just in case. 3 days before your trip, start checking the weather forecast, but remember than in the Haute-Savoie, a sunny spell could quickly turn into snowfall!
What if the weather is bad for my entire holiday?
It’s rare but not impossible! In any case, be positive, your children will always have something to do! Racing down the sledging runs, a snowball fight, building a snowman or even an igloo… Not-to-mention the 30 kilometres of footpaths to explore, as if you were in the Far North and of course all the entertainment organised by the Tourist Office. We guarantee that you won’t be bored here!

You’ll feel like you’re in the Far North!
