Forest loop along the left banks of the Giffre, departing from Dessy. There are some great viewpoints on the south side of Mieussy and from Pertuiset paragliding take-off slope, the birthplace of paragliding.
From the hamlet of Dessy, follow the small road towards Ivoray, then a footpath that runs parallel to the road, on the right-hand side. Go left onto the Mont Mailly forest path. After around 3km, the path leads to the hamlet of Charjou. Carry on through the forest where you’ll see some ancient pools, before heading down to the pretty village of Ivoray, where the view over the ridges from the Pointe Perret to the Pic de Marcelly is remarkable. For the way back, you’ll be walking along the quiet Route d’Ivoray towards Dessy and then join onto the same path you arrived on.
In the villages of Dessy and Ivoray, there are some beautiful Savoyard farms. Ivoray marshland is a remarkable natural area. An alternative route via the Pont du Diable, along the banks of the Giffre is possible on the way back.
