A fairy easy climb and a magnificent view from the top, particularly of the Roc d’Enfer and Mont-Blanc.
From the car park, go along the gravel track towards Chalet Blanc, at the heart of the pastures. After 1.3 km, go left along a small footpath towards the foot of the Pointe de Chalune. Then go along a hillside path to the right, towards the Col de Chalune. The footpath on the left leads to the Pointe de Chavasse. From the Col de Chalune, a 30 to 45-minute walk along a steep path will take you to the peak, at an altitude of 2,116 m.
This wild hike across the pastures is accessible to most and offers a superb panoramic view of the surrounding mountains.
Even from the Col de Chalune, the view of the impressive Roc d’Enfer and Mont-Blanc is spectacular.
On this itinerary, you'll see cows and sheep and some remarkable mountain plant species.
The return can be done by the Golet Rouge and the pass of Vesinaz to go to the Peak of Chavasse and go back to Pierre Rouge.
