Exhibition at the museum: 3 centuries of precision, the industrial history of the valley
- This field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged.
Espace Carpano et Pons
100, place du 11 Novembre
This exhibition will show you how the watchmaking activity developed in the valley and how it gave birth to a cutting-edge industry: bar turning.
It is commonly accepted that it was Claude Joseph Ballaloud who, around 1720, would have introduced the watchmaking activity in the Arve valley. Three centuries later, this territory is recognized for constituting an industrial center of very high technology. 300 years of know-how, it deserves a spotlight. A beautiful story to discover with this new exhibition.
